The Mini Aussie is the mirror of the Standard Australian Shepherd, only in a smaller calmer package. Size ranges from 13” to 18” tall and weighing approximately 15 to 35 pounds at maturity. They come in coat color of Blue Merle, Red Merle, Black and Red, all with or without copper/tan and white trim. They are compact and well balanced, very athletic and intelligent, possessing varying degrees of natural herding instinct. The Mini Aussie is loyal, calm, and confidant, yet wary of strangers. They are entirely devoted to their master and will go to great lengths to please, making them very easily trainable. With their many attributes you will find this amazing breed in the show ring, obedience ring, performing in agility, flyball, as well as working with live stock and being used as therapy dogs.
